About Lynthis
Lynthis is an industrial automation engineering firm based on Chemin du Cyclotron in Louvain-la-Neuve, in the heart of Walloon Brabant. We support Belgian manufacturers in designing, programming and modernising their production systems.
Our team of automation engineers and software developers works across the whole chain: programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, SCADA supervision, industrial communication and data collection applications.
Our approach is straightforward: understand your process before proposing a solution, deliver a documented and readable program, and stay available once the installation is running. We work for SMEs as well as for industrial sites of large groups.

Frequently asked questions about industrial automation
Which programmable logic controllers does Lynthis work with?
We work mainly with three platforms: Siemens (SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300 and S7-400, TIA Portal, STEP 7, PCS 7, WinCC supervision), Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View) and Schneider Electric (Modicon M340 and M580, Control Expert, EcoStruxure, Vijeo Citect). We also work with Beckhoff TwinCAT, Wago and Codesys, on both new developments and the takeover or migration of existing installations.
Which areas of Belgium do you cover?
Lynthis is based in Louvain-la-Neuve, in Walloon Brabant, and works throughout Belgium: Wallonia, the Brussels-Capital Region and Flanders. We also take on assignments in Luxembourg and northern France.
Can you take over an installation programmed by another integrator?
Yes. We analyse the existing program, document the logic in place and take over maintenance or further development, even when no original documentation exists. This is a common request when an integrator leaves or a maintenance contract ends.
Do you work in regulated environments such as GMP or HACCP?
Yes. We work in pharmaceutical production under GMP constraints, within GAMP 5 and Annex 11 frameworks, and in food and beverage under HACCP standards. We produce the associated documentation: functional design specifications (FDS), hardware design specifications (HDS), alarm design sheets (ADS), traceability matrices and support for IQ/OQ qualification.
How long does an automation project take?
It depends on scope: a program change or a troubleshooting job takes days, while rebuilding a complete line runs over several months. We always start with an analysis of your needs before proposing a schedule and a budget.
Do you provide maintenance after commissioning?
Yes. We offer preventive maintenance agreements, software and firmware updates, modernisation of obsolete controllers and troubleshooting support on your automated installations.
